There is a little row of footballs stuck in the narrow gap between one fence and another fence. They must have gone over the shorter fence from the school football pitch just behind it. There is no obvious way to get them out from that gap, the fences are too high.

I’ve walked past these hoardings so many times but never noticed that there’s an absent house behind them. The end of the terrace has been chopped off and demolished, leaving a blank wall and the outline (if you peer through a gap) of a fireplace. A sign that says ‘GIVE LIFE’ lies on the ground.

A taxi company, now closed. One boarded-up opening like a sad blank picture in a fancy frame. The tree behind it looks as if it’s growing out through the roof. The words ‘DRIVERS WANTED’ have been painted over in black. The entire building is sad enough to fall down of its own accord one of these days.
